The Metals:

Gold rose $9.15 to $1169.25 in Asia before it fell back off in London to see a $0.70 loss at as low as $1159.40 by about 10AM EST, but it then rallied back higher for most of the rest of trade ended back near its earlier high with a gain of 0.76%.  Silver dropped to as low as $17.464 shortly after 8AM EST before it rose to a new session high of $17.68 by late morning in New York and next fell back off a bit, but it then bounced back higher in late trade and ended with a gain of 0.86%.

Euro gold remained at about €893, platinum gained $29.65 to $1560.50, and copper gained over 4 cents to about $3.29.

Tomorrow at 8:30AM EST brings second quarter GDP expected at 2.5%, the Chain Deflator expected at 1.1%, and the Employment Cost Index expected at 0.5%.  At 9:45 is Chicago PMI for July expected at 56.3 and at 9:55 is Michigan Sentiment for July expected at 67.5.

The Markets:

Charts Courtesy of http://finance.yahoo.com/

Oil rose as the U.S. dollar index fell after the euro climbed to almost 3-month highs on strong data and news out of Europe.  The dollar was also hurt “by a report that Moody's top sovereign analyst for the U.S. reiterated that the nation's triple-A credit rating could eventually come under scrutiny unless the government presents a credible fiscal consolidation plan.”

Treasuries rose after today’s $29 billion 7-year note auction drew a yield of 2.394% with a bid to cover of 2.78.

The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P rose at the open on better than expected economic data and earnings reports before they fell to see notable losses midday, but they then rallied back higher in afternoon trade and ended with only modest losses as traders positioned themselves ahead of tomorrow’s GDP report.

Among the big names making news in the market today were Toyota, Panasonic, Symantec, Moody’s, Exxon, Colgate, Motorola, Molycorp, Bunge, Raytheon, Motorola, and BP.

The Commentary:

Dear CIGAs,

"Currency Induced Cost Push Inflation" cannot be avoided. It will happen overnight as confidence in currency breaks. All of this has happened before.

There was a major dollar rally in 1931 as many European countries defaulted on their debt. The dollar looked outrageously bullish as a mirror image of the weak European currencies. The media spoke of the USA in the manner of a refuge currency in 1931. Then it all changed as it has here and now.

The dollar returned to its previous bear market, plumbing new lows in 1932 and 1933.

We are, here and now, continuing on QE to infinity. Here and now, the Fat Cat insiders of Wall Street know this and are NOW shifting to massive longs under cover of a paper gold game.

The Fat Cat Wall Street demons will make the most money over the shortest period of time in gold just as they did in 1979-80 and in the 1930s. It is totally obvious to the objective observer of the history of gold and currency.

It is here and now. It has all happened before in the same cyclical time frame as now. But here and now, so many are blind to reality.

So many have become gambleholics. So many have lost emotional balance. So many are being fooled daily by the manipulation of the paper gold market.

The trend of dollar value, here and now, is illustrated below. It is all happening again, here and now.

Harry Schultz knows it. I know this. Few have a clue of the spread of the cancerous economic entity known as "QE to Infinity" in the entire Western World.”- Jim Sinclair, JSMineset.com
