The Metals:
Gold rose to see a $3.34 gain at $1423.94 at the open of trade in New York before it chopped its way back lower to see a $4.80 loss at $1415.80 by a little before 11AM EST, but it then rallied back higher in the last few hours of trade and ended with a gain of 0.1% at a new all-time closing high. Silver climbed over 1% to $31.228 before it fell to see a slight loss at $30.824, but it also rallied back higher in late trade and ended with a gain of 0.68% at a new 30-year closing high.
Euro gold fell to about €1062, platinum gained $5 to $1777, and copper climbed a penny to a new record high at about $4.45.
Gold and silver equities saw slight gains at the open before they fell to see modest losses by midmorning and then rallied back higher midday, but they then fell back off again in late trade and ended with over 1% losses.

Tomorrow at 10AM EST brings Factory Orders for November expected at -0.3% and at 2PM is the release of FOMC minutes from the fed’s last meeting.

Oil rose as the U.S. dollar index pared overnight gains and treasuries fell on decent economic data that sent the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P higher.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Dollar General, Porsche, Clorox, and Bank of America.
