The Metals: Gold steadily rose throughout most of world trade and ended near its last minute new all-time high of $1430.95 with a gain of 1.44%. Silver climbed to a new 30-year high of $34.568 and closed with a gain of 2.53%. Both metals are rising to new highs in after hours access trade as well. Euro gold climbed to almost €1036, platinum gained $35.40 to $1837.75, and copper rose another penny to about $4.49. Gold and silver equities rose roughly 1.5% at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day. They remain around 4% below their all-time highs of December 6th, 2010. The U.S. dollar index rose in late trade and ended with a slight gain on inflation worries that may push interest rates higher. Treasuries ended higher as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P fell over 1% on rising oil prices and reemerging geopolitical worries. Among the big names making news in the market today were J.
